Gardner's Multiple Intelligences and Skills of Professionalism

Saint John Toastmasters Monday April 14 2014

Two speeches this week;  one on Gardner's model of Multiple Intelligences and one on three skills of
professionalism developed in Toastmasters (inspiring action, dealing with conflict and mentorship). The skill
exercised in the first speech was choosing and using organizational techniques, and in the second speech on choosing, defining and making clear the general and specific purpose of the speech.

Impromptu speaking practice was about 'flow' and how it relates to managing stress, rebounding from setbacks, occupations such as writing, managing interactions etc.

We added a new member and had two guests who appear to be interested in joining the group.

We have no meeting on Easter Monday as the school is closed.  Otherwise, We meet each Monday from September through to mid-June in room 002 downstairs at St Macs with the exception of  holidays.
