Volunteering at Romero House, the Unthinking Use of Labels, and the Sales Process

~ Saint John Toastmasters Monday March 24 2014

On Monday we had two new guests both of whom indicated they want to join the group.   It is always
a treat for us to see new people join the group and begin furthering their development in our
environment.

Our off the cuff speaking practice was based on personal interpretation of some funny charts from the internet, such as a plot showing the relationship between a persons age and the price of his or her preferred
meal, and a bar chart of favorite pies, and a pie chart of favorite bars.

We had three speeches on volunteering at Romero House and the need for compassion in general, on our blind use of personal labels in society, and on the effective selling process.

We meet each Monday from September through to mid-June in room 002 downstairs at St Macs with the exception of  holidays.   Also if schools are closed for weather, our meeting is cancelled.
